Update Like Crazy

i've left this blog alone for too long. 2-1/2 weeks into college and i don't want to forget a second of it. so that means i have to update. so here we go. v, since you're the only one who reads this, if anyone at G&P asks, tell 'em how much fun i'm having and how little sleep i'm getting.

QUEST (fall orientation for freshmen)
1. my group - Alicia (the navy kid who's lived in a bajillion countries and is majoring in japanese!!!), Courtney (the kick-ass short kid who's nice to me), Heidi (the eclectically dressed sweet kid), Kathryn (the nice commuter kid), Rachel (the quiet, not-so-social kid), Cati (the crazy, smiley kid), Lisa (the crazy, amped up, competitive kid), Alexandra (the boy-crazy kid), Marie (the athletic, social kid), Jill (the crazy, hyper kid), Skyler (the sweet kid), Andrew (the awesome kid) Daniel (the kid in the army surplus coat) Tyler (the laid-back kid with the diamond stud earring), Matt (the nice kid), Jake (the big, teddy-bear-like kid), Nate (the other nice kid) & my leader Rachel (the awesome, smart, fun girl)

**whew** i think that's all of them. these awesome kids are also my prelude class--establishing what Calvin is all about.

2. QUEST consisted of a lot of goofy stuff that just wore us out, but we had a group bowling night dressed in crazy clothes bought at salvation army to celebrate Cati's birthday. the last night there was also a crazy dance party in the parking lot outside my dorm--dj and all, and my group fought our way into the middle every time we got pushed out. it was crazy!!

The Dorm
1. my roomate "Ally from Cali"--don't let first impressions fool you: she is not quiet :) no, in fact she's crazy, brimming with energy, and an up-in-your-face jokester. i love her. she's teaching me (inadvertently) how to be more outwardly expressive).

2. i'm in the annex, otherwise known as the area of the hall that not many people go down to. recently, someone crossed out the word annex on our sign, so now it reads "the abyss." yeah, i live in the "abyss"--but everybody's really nice there. our neighbors are amanda and mackenzie, and they're awesome! a little down the hall is carolyn our barnabas (kinda in charge of promoting spiritual growth) and melissa, a really sweet girl i really respect. then there's lindsey and christina who are amazing and nice and easy to talk to. our suitemates aren't around much, but ashley and ellen are very nice.

3. the girls on the floor--jenn, our sweet! RA, betsy who's bubbly and so much fun to talk to, sarah who i first met while she was sitting in a cardboard box--love her so much!, reb (one of four rebeccas on our floor) who is amazing and really cool, patty and annie from down the hall who are random and hilarious, jenny and katie who i hang out with pretty often (jenny at least), allison who was nice enough to talk to me and snag me on her way to LOFT, Michelle our AC who's as crazy and hyper and enthusiastic as you get, and Sav the organized, bright, cheeful dorm pres. there are a bunch of other girls: abbey, liz, the other rebeccas, tina, and more. too many names!!

WILL FINISH LATER!

V is not the only person from G&P to read your blog! So glad to hear life is going smoothly (or at least that it's fun) as you transition into school! We'll miss you at the campout this weekend, but I hear you'll be in good company :) Keep us updated!

You'd be surprise how many of us are reading this and praying over you and eager to hear how things are going. Don't ever forget, writing a blog is like broadcasting your life on national radio! So any crumbs you send our way are gratefully received... K
